Update on my own progress with First Step Internet Marketing

Are you new to internet marketing? I was just getting started learning about internet marketing in September 2008. So, in some ways, I still feel rather “new” at this.

Like many of the people I have met online in various marketing courses, I spent a lot of time (and money) chasing after every little tidbit on internet marketing that I could find.

I found that most of the courses I took went right over my head. I ended up getting confused and suffering from severe information overload. In fact, I still feel somewhat overwhelmed.

I decided that I needed to go back to the basics and make sure I had a good solid foundation.

I’m just finishing up the First Step Internet Marketing course created by Judith and Jim with Tom Justin. I have followed their suggestions and done the assignments. I feel like I’ve got a much better grip on how the whole internet marketing business works. It’s an excellent course and I feel so much more grounded and directed in my IM work.

After learning from many other internet teachers for over 9 months, I feel that I am in a position to recognize excellent information. I have been so impressed with the course that I have signed up to be an affiliate.

The First Step Internet Marketing course is something that I feel very comfortable recommending to anyone who is just getting started on the internet. Judith, Jim and Tom are totally committed to supporting heart-centered (soft-sell) marketers. They respond very quickly to questions (are they always at their computers??) and are extremely helpful.

Yes, this is my affiliate link. If you’d rather not support my interest in this, that’s fine. You can go to http://www.firststepinternetmarketing.com/main.php. The price you pay will be the same, either way.

Wishing you to very best in your own heart-centered marketing success!

Another content-rich call…

Just finished listening to Judith & Jim and their partner Tom Justin on their latest free teleseminar. As usual, they’ve provided a lot of good content to help beginning internet marketers.

Of course, they are also promoting their First Step Internet Marketing Course on the call. But they are good at keeping the sales pitch to a minimum and making it worthwhile. I always learn something new on their calls.

I am currently working through this course myself. Already I’ve learned a lot (I’m working on week three) and greatly appreciate the way they’ve organized it.

Instead of haphazardly jumping all over the place taking courses and listening to teleseminars, I feel like I am now being guided through the process of setting up my internet marketing intelligently and completely. Before, I felt like I was missing pieces to the puzzle and doing everything in the wrong order. And I was!

In fact, I remember coming across the First Step Internet Marketing course when I was first getting started online and passing it up because it was “too expensive” for me.

Well, in hindsight, at approximately $300, it really was well priced and I have certainly spent that much or more in the meantime with all the other odd things I’ve done.

So, when I saw that Judith, Jim and Tom had decided to offer their course with a recession-buster discount of an additional 50% off, I jumped right on it.

Wish I’d done it at first, but now I can appreciate what I’m getting out of it.

The Heart of Marketing by Judith & Jim

I’ve just had the opportunity to preview Judith Sherven and Jim Sniechowski’s new book The Heart of Marketing: Love Your Customers and They Will Love You Back.

Thursday, May 14th, is the official launch date, and Judith and Jim have put together a ton of great bonuses for those who purchase the book on Amazon today.

==> http://www.theheartofmarketing.com

I’ve been a student of Judith and Jim for about a year now. They have taught me a lot about heart-centered marketing and helped me to get more comfortable with putting myself and my service out there.

I haven’t made it all the way through the book yet, but I am so impressed with what I’ve read. They’ve taken their background in psychology and combined it with a deep sense of caring and spirituality to explain effective marketing techniques from a heart-centered perspective. A great practical handbook for all service-oriented practitioners.

And, in case you are wondering, I do not receive anything if you buy the book. I just want you to know about it and have the opportunity to get the bonuses. I sincerely hope it is helpful to you.

Blessings,

Bonnie

Competition and Heart-centered Marketing

What does heart-centered marketing look like? This is something that I am still trying to define for myself. The best one-word definition of heart-centered marketing, in my opinion, is “noncompetitive.”

Why noncompetitive? Because whenever we are in a competitive mindset, we are denying that we live in an abundant universe, that there is enough for everyone.

I am far from perfect in my implementation of this concept, but I do believe it to be a true principle.

When we begin to doubt that there is enough for all, we enter the competitive mind and look at those around us as competitors for limited resources.

Of course, this is the programming that most of us have had with regard to money and other resources. If we are to change this mindset to a more abundant way of seeing the world, we have to believe on a core level that the universe has enough for all.

Do you really believe that there is enough for all?

I believe that it is possible. But it is a challenge to maintain that faith when I’m surrounded by the voices of doom and lack.

I need constant reminders to bring myself back to a heart-centered, abundant outlook.

My own self-care routine, my Healing Touch colleagues and my healing practice always help bring me back to a heart-centered place.

I also try to avoid people and media that have negative and competitive attitudes. This can be a real challenge!

One book that has been very helpful to me in releasing a competitive mindset has been The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. This is a 1910 classic that is now available as a free download at http://budurl.com/SOGRbook.

What do you think? I’d love to see your comments.

BTW, I’d like to recommend a great blog post by Soft Sell Marketers Judith and Jim at

on what they see heart-centered (soft sell) marketing to look like.

IM (Internet Marketing) for Beginners

So, I just signed up for the First Step Internet Marketing course for beginners offered by Judith & Jim & Tom. You can to at http://budurl.com/fsimcourse

Free Internet Marketing Teleseminar

If you are new to internet marketing, you can become quickly overwhelmed when you start trying to learn the ins and outs of the online world.

And if you are coming from a more heart-centered field (such as a healing or therapeutic business), you will find many of the techniques of the trade are simply unappealing if not downright inappropriate.

A great place to start is with Judith & Jim, creators of the Soft Sell Marketer’s Association. Having learned the hard way, they know all about the difficulties that you are facing as you embark on your online ventures.

You can get a taste of what they offer by listening to their free teleseminar on Tuesday, April 7th, at 6 pm PST/9 pm EST.

http://budurl.com/fsimteleseminar

If you can’t make it for the call, don’t worry. Go ahead and register and you’ll be sent a link for the audio recording to listen to at your convenience.

I’ve been learning from Judith and Jim for a good while now and feel very comfortable recommending them to you.

They both came from a therapy background to online marketing several years ago and have become experts in what they call Soft-Sell Marketing (as opposed to the hard-sell).

I like to call it heart-centered marketing–marketing that speaks from the heart and respects and honors the intelligence and feelings of the recipient.

I want to see you, as a heart-centered entrepreneur, succeed. The world needs you and all that you offer and the only way to make that happen is to get you and your message out to those who need it.

Hope to be listening with you on the call with Judith and Jim.

Musings on Making a Living in Healing Work

As an alternative medicine practitioner, it’s a constant challenge to maintain a full client base. I know a lot of healers, coaches and therapists who struggle to make ends meet.

I got interested in online marketing not only as a way to market my offline business but also to find ways to provide multiple streams of income.

The usual marketing advice for solo entrepreneurs is to create multiple sources of income in order to supplement their primary business.

This is good advice, I don’t disagree with it. But it can be challenging.

It’s hard enough for most in the healing business to focus on marketing just their healing practice, but to have to add selling of products and other ventures to the To Do list is just too much for some.

In my primary modality, Healing Touch, I know very few practitioners who have managed to make a living in this work. Most practitioners do their practice on the side and work a “regular” job for their primary source of income.

But in speaking with many of them, their dream is to do Healing Touch full time.

I’ve spent a lot of time (and money) researching and learning about website optimization, creating e-books, writing articles, using attraction marketing principles, autoresponders, copy writing, landing pages, list building, affiliate marketing, social networking, etc.

It is my goal to share what I’ve learned to support other healers. I want to make it possible for them to focus more of their time on doing what they are passionate about.

Now, people who work in fields such as: coaching, Journeywork, reiki, massage, Healing Touch, reflexology, EFT, nutrition counseling, Quantum Touch, Theta Healing, Rolfing, art therapy, and so on, are notoriously heart-centered and giving.

Asking for payment for their work is difficult for many. I just had a conversation with a friend today who was questioning herself for charging for her work.

I reminded her that she can help many more people when she charges for her work. Her comment was, “Yeah, when I was working full time I could barely handle any Healing Touch clients.”

I suggested that she continue pursuing her full-time practice and consider offering a free or reduced-fee clinic occasionally to fulfill her desire to help those who can’t afford her regular fees.

If I can find a way to help other practitioners create multiple streams of income (abundance), just think of how much more healing work we can put out into the world when they take their practice full time!

An important part of creating the practice and business you desire is to also focus on the spiritual aspect–creating your vision. More on that another day!

Twitter It

What’s the hottest new networking tool on the internet? Twitter!

I recommend that you get on Twitter and start using it right away so that you can get familiar with it and start building a following.

“Why should I do that?” you ask.

Twitter allows you to connect with hundreds of like-minded people. Think of it as a 24/7 speed networking meeting.

Since you are only allowed to use 140 characters for each tweet (Twitter-ese for a message), information is boiled down to just the most critical points.

Also, depending on your individual marketing system, you can connect your other online marketing activities to your Twitter account.

For example, if you use article marketing at ezinearticles.com, you can set up your account to automatically send out a tweet every time you publish an article. That saves valuable time!

It’s easy and free to start “tweeting”. Just go to twitter.com and sign up.

Then I recommend that you check out this article on Twitter Etiquette: http://budurl.com/twitetiquette .

Happy Tweeting!

Welcome to Multiple Streams of Abundance!

This blog is dedicated to chronicling my success at creating multiple streams of abundance for myself and others.

Those in the healing arts (alternative therapies, coaches, etc.) often find that they must create multiple sources of income in order to succeed financially.

It is my goal to share what I learn here with you as I venture into internet marketing from a decidedly heart-centered point of view.

Please feel free to browse as I add posts over time. I sincerely hope that you find something here that is useful to you and creates greater abundance in your life!
